A free tier that's always there, with simple optional hosting
We're committed to always keeping a free tier — your gateway is never locked out, deleted, or cut off for not paying. However, to ensure the high uptime of our gateway devices and maintain robust security, we incur ongoing costs for hosting and advanced cloud services.
To cover these expenses we offer optional Cloud Service tiers, priced purely for how often your gateway relays fresh telemetry: free forever at the 1-hour interval, then from $2/month (15-minute updates) up to $30/month (30-second updates). There is no one-time license or per-device fee — flashing, re-flashing, and using the platform at the free tier cost nothing. The free tier's update interval may be adjusted over time to keep things sustainable as we grow (it's moved before, from 20 minutes down to 1 hour) — but it will always be free.
These fees cover real hosting and infrastructure costs, nothing more. As the user base grows, pricing may evolve to match the cost of running the platform at that scale.
